One Day Implants

Same Day Immediate Implant Technologies

Chicago Evanston Dental Implantology
Dr. Marinic maintains a close relationship with Nobel Biocare, known world wide as developers and technology providers for the dental industry.

Guided Dental Implants See, first hand, a live presentation of anterior extraction of a broken tooth and immediately followed up with the placement of an immediate load implant, performed by Dr. Marinic.

Our patient's extraction was performed with the proprietary extraction procedure outlined below. No significant bone loss occured during the extraction process, thereby enabling the use of a Nobel Biocare implant device. No bone grafting was required. Technology Partner

This relationship assures Dr. Marinic and the patients we treat that the most advanced technologies and materials that are known to exist... are available to each and every implant candidate... thanks to the leading edge position that Nobel Biocare enjoys within the dental industries.

Dr. Marinic routinely provides same day dental implants to those patients who desire the treatment and meet a few basic criteria.

Popularly known as Same Day Implants or Immediate Load Implants the procedures and tooth replacement components enjoy a strong record of success and long term endurance.

Patient benefit is remarkable:
  • Osseointegration begins immediately.
  • No long wait for the bone to heal before placing the implant
  • There are no missing teeth in the mouth
  • The tooth looks natural while the implant is healing
  • There is no bone resorption since an implant is placed
Although the integration of bone tissue and the implant device takes place normally.. it is the physical characteristics of the implant device itself that creates the solid infrastructure that enables immediate use.

It is quite normal for patients to have an extraction of any existing tooth structure, placement of the implant device and a fitting for a temporary crown.... all in one sitting. The final crown is placed 2 - 6 months after the implant is placed.

Immediate Load Procedure - An Anatomy

The first in our series of treatment photos shows two teeth in the lower left jaw that have been compromised through disease and need to be replaced.

Treatment plan choices and options were discussed... the patient was concerned about possible bone loss issues and long term endurance of treatment (implants stimulate bonegrowth).

He ultimately decided to take advantage of implant procedures that would eliminate the toothless look while waiting for final porcelain restorations.

The second photograph shows the preparations for extraction. Dr. Marinic is one of the few doctors who use an extraction procedure that virtually eliminates the need for complex oral surgery for preparing the implant site.

The upper portion of the tooth is first removed. A special threaded extraction bit is inserted into the remaining tooth that passes through the root structure.

In the 3rd photograph, a metal platform is placed on the existing tooth structures.

A specialized tool grips the extraction bit and in one steady upward movement extracts the tooth and entire root structure without the need for complicated surgery to sever root tissue from the jawbone material.

The use of this extraction procedure in most cases enables Dr. Marinic to complete an extraction in as little as 5 minutes. The same steps are followed for preparing the 2nd implant site.

The 4th picture in our procedure series shows a text book perfect preparation for insertion of the implants. Note that the gum tissues for each implant have been prepared with a tissue punch device tht provides the precision needed without the need for suturing.

Specially designed Nobel Biocare implants are inserted into the jaw, with abutments that are adaptable for 2 new temporary crowns.

The patented thread technology of the implant devices have unique grip strength that permits the use of the temporary restorations.

Our patients are instructed on the care of the temporary crowns and in some cases, are advised to avoid eating certain hard foods to preserve the integrity of the somewhat soft crown material.

Thorough osseointegration will be complete within 4-6 months, at which time the temporary crowns are removed and replaced with premium porcelain material that will provide the long term endurance (10 years and more) the patient is seeking.

The last photo shows the final placement of the temporaries.
